About the Babson Law Society
The Babson Law Society, BLS, is open to all Babson students with a sincere passion for law and for those students who plan on applying/attending law school. The BLS is also meant to be a network for lawyers to meet Babson students and be a resource for students in pursuit of their legal passion. The society is composed of four cabinets: the Cabinet of Legal Relations, the Cabinet of Moot Court, the Cabinet of Pre-Law Education, and the Cabinet of Internal Activities.
Mission Statement
The mission of the Babson Law Society is to enhance the legal education of Babson students through its connection to the Accounting & Law Division at Babson, through participation in Moot Trial Competitions, and through attendance at lectures on various legal topics. This organization will facilitate the transition between undergraduate business studies and law school. It will also provide the opportunity for members to learn about how businesses have an ethical responsibility to the greater society.
Membership Privileges
In addition to all the open campus events the BLS will hold, BLS members are entitled to the following privileges:
a) Participate in activities and represent the Babson Law Society on and off Babson College campus.
b) To be notified about upcoming networking and career affiliated events which BLS will organize.
c) Receive LSAT and law school admissions information.
d) Have the chance to compete for a spot on the Moot Court team and participate in an intercollegiate Moot Court competition.
e) Have the opportunity to build relationships with legal professionals within the Babson Law Society’s network.
Goals
- Educating Babson students on the law school application process and how to get into their top choice law school
- To place students into contact with lawyers in the greater Boston metropolitan area in order to form relations and hopefully attain internships/jobs
- To obtain practice in legal research and writing
- Have fun through our common interest of law!
